Richard Hughes
Richard a native of Westport, Co. Mayo trained and completed his degree in Optometry in D.I.T Kevin St. Dublin, he worked in many different types of practices throughout Ireland and the U.K before deciding to return to Galway.
For the past 36 years Richard has expanded the practice with a new branch in Seacrest Knocknacarra in 2002, and also has clinic in Carraroe.

In Optics over the past 36 years there has been a huge change in technology in testing equipment, spectacles and contact lenses, Richard strongly believes the success with his practice is a combination of excellent customer service, product knowledge and keeping up to date with the latest optical equipment and newly advanced testing techniques. As Richard qualified in 1980 he feels that it is very important to continue to educate himself in Optics and recently received a Diploma specialising in Sportsvision and Schoolvision having worked with NCBI for years.
We are delighted over the last few years to serve The West with over 36 years experience and commitment to optical services, and hope to serve our existing customers and a “ Cead mile fáilte” to new customers to both our practice in Seacrest, Knocknacarra.
